Friday was a very quiet day largely because it was pouring with rain. We walked to the local cafe Curleys in Curl Curl but having phoned to check it was open, it closed as we arrived at 1pm. Apparently this is normal here with food shops restaurants and cafes. So Sam made wedges and Borscht beetroot soup-a first for me. I got very tired in the afternoon, jet lag, and slept for an hour or so.
Yesterday it was still raining. Sams partner went out early to get bread and provisions. The boys played but had to stay indoors because of the rain. After lunch Paolo and I walked to Dee Why beach which was about a 40 minute walk past Curl Curl beach. We had to ask for directions and it kept raining, warm rain.
We then walked back over the hill. People had put out stuff for collection on Easter Monday. You could seriously furnish a house with the things people were throwing away and apparently people do go round and pick it up. But then this is a wealthy area, Tony Abbots constituency. It is also very white. The evangelical Christians have a big sway here even in education and Sam has a lot of aggro from parents who only believe in Creationism when she is running her science classes. Well they dont come!
