It was an example of what a few committed individuals can do when really motivated. The volunteers were really committed and produced leaflets ran tours of the reserve and were very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna.

Day 10
Today I walked to the Westfield Mall to see if I could get an attachment for my iPad for my camera. Memories of Dudleys, Merry Hill without the escalators! Also owned by Westfield! Unfortunately I couldn't get one. so I walked back and encountered loads of sulphur crested cockatoos in the school grounds. My idea of heaven!
This afternoon we went to the local Stoney Range Regional Botanic Garden which was established sixty years ago and run by volunteers. We had a tour of the gardens which included artwork, looking at water bugs, looking for insects under logs, centipedes and millipedes and looking for possums through binoculars, chasing bush turkey and loads of spiders. There are various areas including rainforest and bush and each has its own Ecosystem. The afternoon ended with a game about sustainability and cake! The centre is open every day except Christmas Day and even though they leave magnifying glasses around no one violates the reserve. One women comes every day to do Tai Chi there.
